Race Redemption

I'm currently enjoying a short bloggy break (I hope you don't go away) but I plan to resume transmission tomorrow with a deep discussion about nutrition and how (as I found it) it really does matter while training. Meantime this week, we wrapped up the NICU showers and I started my own weightloss team at Shrinking Jeans compiled of mostly family and a few local friends and my tri group is also shrinking now too! And there is just so much going on I can't wait till life slows down a bit so I can get it all on paper (virtual paper really).

But as I've spent the week recovering from last week's half and for one split second thinking another 70.3 was crazytalk (or maybe the first 24 hours afterward) I found myself having pangs for another one even though I vowed to concentrate on smaller races (because who has time to train for the longer ones, especially while having two kids).

Notice of the pangs was received by my husband in email form stating, "Miami Man next year?" It was as if my fingers were on autopilot, they typed it without the knowledge of my brain.

And he replied with, "how bout Augusta?" Because there are a number of people from our tri group doing the Ironman Augusta next year and we pondered it.

Yada yada yada, I'm officially signed up for the Ironman Augusta 70.3 next September 2011.

I can't stop. Someone help me.

It's like how we're wired to automatically forget how painful labor was so we would keep having children.

Anyway. I need a redemption race on account of the tacks and the flat and this is it.

I guess if I'm going to have any addiction on account of my addictive personality, this isn't such a bad one right? As long as it doesn't interfere with the kids' college fund?

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Did I write this post for you? (Aside from the fact that you wrote triathlon and 70.3 in it). Because I'm addicted too. And it's an awesome addiction to have. Much better than say cupcakes.
