Mantra Monday: No Regrets Part II

regret_edited-1
I think I'm going to have to stick with the "No Regrets" mantra this week and for the foreseeable future, especially after the unfortunate cheesecake incident of 2011 that I posted about at Shrinking Jeans last week on weigh in day in which I expressed the need for an electronic shock bracelet.

(In case you missed it, there was me, with my face in the fridge, literally spooning heaping spoonfuls of cheesecake into my piehole like an addict or something during the kids' naptime. The cheesecake went directly into the garbage afterward but not before some serious damage was done.)

In sum, there was regret.

And I'd like to have no regrets.

Because remember, I just wrote about having no regrets.

So I'm trying again.

Or still trying, rather.

Because this:

equals this:

42-16673940

(I used this guy in a post last week and I don't know what it is about him but he makes me feel like yelling "Touchdown!" and doing a touchdown dance in the endzone with high knees on my tippy toes sort of like Rod in Jerry McGuire).

That's what I want to feel like every day. Every day is a choice so today I will choose and tomorrow I will choose again and then I will rinse and repeat daily.

And on a completely unrelated sidenote, there was a lot going on in last night's Grammy Awards, like for instance, a giant chicken with a breastplate, a LOT of leopard print, some nips, and a lady being birthed from an egg that sounded a whole lot like Madonna by the way.

Did you like it? I wish I got to see more awards being given out but the shows were pretty good. And back to the topic, what's your mantra this week?

OH and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

Discuss.

I had a similar incident with a red velvet cake someone brought when Bug was born... except I was only eating the frosting. That's embarassing!

I am so mentally ready to get back into full workout mode... however, my body is not. So this week I am going to spend a little time experimenting to see what my post preggo butt can do while under the watchful eye of Bug.

No regrets!

I think my mantra for the week will be "PUSH HARDER"....I think I've gotten a bit lazy lately even though I have been working out every day...think maybe pushing harder will help me in more than just weight loss area.

As far as the Grammy's are concerned...I don't watch them cuz I watch so lttle tv that I wouldn't know who most of the people are!!

Yeah, but cheesecake is GOOD and life is short. You're tough, just jog an extra mile and forget about it!

Aw, man. It would be hard for me to avoid having an unfortunate incident with cheesecake, too. (Your cheesecake incident sounds eerily similiar to my Costco nuts weekend. :-/ Which was the weekend BEFORE this last one, thank goodness.)

But speaking as one who could really let herself get bogged down in regret: Try to not dwell on that particular regret, such that it becomes a soul-sucker. Focus on planning the next 'no regret' moment. Because you're right, those do make me feel like doing a TD dance, and I don't even follow football much.

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day! (((hug!)))

Hmmm...I hadn't given it much thought, but I think my mantra so far this week has been "every minute counts".

I've wanted to give up a couple of times with my workouts, but instead of giving in, I've just readjusted my plan and got SOMETHING in.

And I only watch the grammy's for the live performances. The awards don't matter because I have no idea what's going on. If I like the sound of someone new, I'll check them out on iTunes.
